Spring Wedding Ideas from Teatime Catering

Hallelujah and pass the cake this way, SPRING has finally arrived and the flowers are exploding in bloom everywhere you look!  Finally a bride and groom can celebrate their wedding ceremony and wedding reception outside without wearing a snow parka!

Apple Blossoms in bloom.  We have celebrated all things spring here at Teatime Catering by whipping up some festive cocktails.  The infamous Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival inspires many couples to take advantage of a regional bloom.  Try blending Proseco or other sparkling wine with a splash of raspberry colored liquor, garnish with fresh raspberries.  Or a light blush wine with a splash of club soda and fresh mint leaf.

Teatime Delicacies, Inc. created a wedding cake at Top of The Town in Arlington VA www.topofthetown.net  celebrated the Cherry Blossom season with hand crafted sugar cherry blossom flowers for a stunning presentation.
 Sugar flowers and sugar FRUIT?

We created this basket weave design with edible sugar handle and butterflies atop fresh sugared fruit.

Finally, a spring day and warm enough to sit outside under a tent with Mother Nature breathing life into all her glory.

Not exactly sure how you might incorporate this particular theme, but here is a newborn baby robin next to my front door making his/her first chirps while sitting atop a nest that features ribbon from the neighborhood Easter basket fixings!  There would be a truly interesting idea for a Washington DC wedding reception!

And we never tire of fresh fruit, whether it be on a display on our buffets, or on top of a wedding or birthday cake.  Watermelon, papaya, pineapple, cantaloupe, honey dew melon, blood oranges, cherries and strawberries are always a welcome Spring menu idea, as well as Summer, Fall AND Winter.
