Labor Day Weekend we were lucky to cater a wedding reception at the Historic Snow Hill Manor in Laurel MD www.pgelegantsettings.com/Our_sites/Snow_Hill_Manor.htm
According to the PG Elegant Weddings website, the property is described as follows:  “Snow Hill Manor is a 2-½ story brick plantation house of late-Georgian
style that is located on 15 acres of land in Laurel, Maryland. Situated
on a knoll overlooking the Patuxent River, the home was built in 1755 alongside a main road which connected it to the highway leading to Philadelphia and New York. 



One of many homes in the Laurel area formerly owned by the distinguished
Snowden family, Snow Hill Manor has been listed on the National
Register of Historic Places since 1974. The house features four rooms on
each floor which include a modern caterer’s kitchen and brides’ and
grooms’ dressing rooms. The house features wood floors and period-style
furnishings. This historic property may be rented by the public for
meetings, receptions, weddings, and other functions. A 30′ x 60′ tented
brick patio is also available from April to November.”

The weather was a tease:  there was a coastal hurricane trying to decide just how much rain was going bless the Washington DC area.  We skirted the storm altogether and enjoyed a stunning September afternoon.  The ceremony took place in a tranquil setting with blue skies and mild temperatures.  The reception took place in the adjacent tent,

The menu was completely vegetarian.  Many caterers can offer vegetarian options, but Catering By Teatime can offer a complete vegetarian menu that meat eaters as well as vegetarians and/or vegans will enjoy.  
The cocktail hour featured Assorted Domestic and Imported Cheeses with Crackers; Vegetarian Sushi Rolls; Assorted Bruschetta with toppings of Tomato Basil – Herb Cheese – Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus; and Roasted Spiced Garbonzo Beans (Chick Peas)

For the buffet dinner we served Ruth’s House Salad of Mixed Greens, Tomato, Scallion, Dried Cranberry, Gorgonzola Cheese, Pecans in a Balsamic Vinaigrette.  The catered menu also included Zucchini Pancakes with Melted Brie; Garlic Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes; Fresh Fruit Arrangement with Seasonal Fruits; Sesame Noodles; Fresh Bread and Rolls; and Tuscan Bean Salad with Sun Dried Tomato, Celery, Scallion, Cucumber, Artichoke Hearts and fresh herbs:

As the afternoon turned into a beautiful fall evening, the bride and groom toasted their new marriage with hand painted wine glasses:

Followed by one of Ruth’s Magnificent wedding cake creations (followed by the arrival of a Cookie FOOD TRUCK!!)

Snow Hill is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Laurel MD.  It is one of the Historic Properties managed by sister property Newton White Mansion.  The house is charming, the grounds are serene.  The catering was delicious as always, and the catering staff took care of everything so the guests and clients have a day of marvelous memories.
